Demian Vrij Games is a one-person studio in Thessaloniki, Greece, making narrative strategy games about power, counsel, and consequence — stories where you are not the king, but the voice behind the throne.
The name is a borrowed self. Demian is Hermann Hesse's — the novel about the voice that teaches you to see the world as it is, and to act in it. Vrij is Dutch for free, kept from years spent in the Netherlands — partly for the freedom, partly as a private joke that survived emigration: the founder's Greek surname comes from Paraskevi — Friday — and Friday in Dutch is vrijdag. The same name twice, in two languages, with liberty in between.
The King's Whisperer is the studio's first game: written, designed, and built solo, from zero to Steam, in under a year.
